你好, everyone! How have you been?

It’s been a while… 6 months since the zine (and the last website update) came out. An avalanche of heavy air has been streaming down our headquarters since then, so I’ve just been shoveling; nothing more, nothing less. You might hear about it in the next blogpost, but this one is obviously for something else.

Some of you probably noticed there was an ad for a “zona.plankton C～CD” on the mega-zine (page 102).

The deal with that was: originally, my plan was for a compilation album to come bundled with the zine. I didn’t follow through with it because I figured they’d be stepping on each other for attention… and, of course, the more honest answer is that there was no fucking way I could pull off a decent record without taking what little time I had away from the zine. Thus, I just sat on it for a while, navel gazing and wind dredging, up until I felt like it was time to work on it… and the timing was just right for zona.plankton’s birthday. That’s nice!

There’s ～01h and 21 tracks of mostly-new music from yours truly and some friends. Some of these songs have stuck around in my hard-drive for years without anywhere to go, so it’s nice to not only post a record again (after 6 whole years) but clean up some of the old backlog.

Besides the website’s anniversary, this year also marks the 10th anniversary of me making music, so there’s a lot to cherish today. I hope you enjoy it!!

zona.plankton’s 4th birthday! ⊂(´• ω •`⊂)

These have been a slow and arduous couple of months for me, so all I have to say this time is a big “thank you” for the support and occasional comments. (◕‿◕)♡

The constant meta-text on last year’s blogposts has been seared into my eyes as a cautionary tale of redundancy, so I’ll spare you of the “I’m working on it!”. I am working on it, but in a nebulous manner that makes it unclear what “it” is. And “it” tastes funny too.

It won’t take six months until the next update or drawing though, that’s for sure. I’ll continue drawing the request backlog I got from early April (closed off for now), making more music and figuring out the zine printing – the cost of the thing did come back to bite me in the ass after all, so I couldn’t make much progress on it. It’s a shame, but I think it’ll work out in the next few months. I’m very hard-headed and never give up on anything, so rest assured it will happen!

In short, thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ll keep at it…!

My friends worked on a mod for SOUPJAM2026 a while back, and you can play it here. I didn’t contribute much, but they included a zona.plankton level (made by valiant gentleman André) and a few old tracks from me. We intend to make more games in the future.
