Hi, how are you doing this fine evening?! (╭ರ⩊• ) I hope your 2026’s has been good so far.

Exactly one year ago today, I did my first zona.plankton update of 2025. My idea was to, for the entirety of that year, update the website at the last day of each month, alongside a matching illustration fashioned after magazine covers. Not long after it came out, I realized that the blogposts were an important aspect of the update as well, so we ended up with 12 updates, 12 posts and 12 poster illustrations…

With that in mind, I’m glad to announce that our brand new mega-zine zona.plankton marine～zine 2026 is out now! There’s nearly 200 pages of art, design, articles & more, structured throughout the entire year, most of it by yours truly, alongside contributions from friends and my favorite online artists…!!

Obviously, I feel tremendously happy, and also every other kind of emotion I could be feeling right now. As of me writing this, I’m still tying up a few loose ends in the thing, so I really don’t know how to talk about it just yet! For now, I just want you to READ IT, then look at the credits and stuff… Then, read it again. Then maybe look at our brand new guestbook. Looks great, doesn’t it?

Though we have our own book reader here at the website (which we’ve even made improvements to in favor of the zine), I recommend anyone who’s already interested in our stuff to download it, for the reasons you’d expect: less compression, offline access, poking around with it… I made sure the quality of the images was good enough online, but I’m not a sadist! Let’s be wise about network requests here!! If you get the .pdf, Please read it in Even Spreads mode, to replicate how it’d read in a physical format (Horizontal Scroll looks great as well).

Speaking of physical format, I’ll be honest: I really don’t have plans to sell you anything. With that said, I AM figuring out the printing process, since I’d like to have a copy for myself and some friends. That’s an ongoing thing for now; once it’s settled, I’ll be sure to update you with some instructions and the adequate files for printing, so that you could do it yourself. I’m a little surprised by how seemingly opaque this entire ordeal is here in Brazil, so hopefully figuring this out now will make it easier for someone else later.

Something else I’d like to mention is that if any of you sent me an e-mail in the past few months that went unanswered: please send it again!! I found out a few weeks back that so many e-mails were being sent straight to spam – maybe some alias issue, sender reputation, I don’t really know, but I’ve been more diligent about checking it now. You can find the e-mail address at the end of the homepage.

I’ll be back soon enough to speak a little more eloquently about everything – right now, I just want to go to bed!!! I sincerely do hope you enjoy it, and that you have the greatest year of your life yet.
